Education in sonma is now the primary thought of villagers. They want give higher education to his children. Because they know that, without education world is black So, they giving education to his children in a brighter way. Some of students of sonma is now studying for Engg & Medical exams also.
For primary education students studying in middle school satuated between north sonma and south sonma. This school is known as "Govt. Middle School, Sonma", which was established in the year of 1957. Students finishing their primary education (1st to 8th class) in better way from this school. Currently about 500 students studying in this school. All teachers teach his students honestly and labouriusly.
Primary education is also getting by students from private tutions. Mani coaching centre is a popular coaching centre in sonma, who gives a better knowledge of his classes with formality to his students.
After finishing primary education, studens go to RSR High School Bariyarpur, Sitamarhi for their matriculation. They are giving better results since some years.
For higher education students admit different colleges in Sitamarhi. They are RKPLD Kisan College, Bariyarpur, RKG College Sitamarhi, SLK College Sitamarhi, Science College Sitamarhi, and many more.... These school and colleges are about 14 to 20 kms. far from sonma, but students go there for studies by cycling everyday.
Students studying with labouriously for their matriculation exams but, after matriculation they do not getting a better plateform for their higher education. because in sonma village there is no environment of education in a better way till yet, but developing in better speed than back years. Now litracy rate is so good. Now girls is also going to colleges for her higher education and her parients has prouds of them.
